SOLIA

Singular: Solia (SOLE-lee-ah)

Plural: Solia (SOLE-lee-ah)

Sometimes referred to as sun nymphs, solia appear most similar to elves, or their “sister species”, silvin, with pointed ears and graceful demeanours. Chiefly, however, solia are recognizable by their hair, which is often shades of red, orange, or blond, and may sport lion-like tails or glowing “sun strands” which trap heat and are visible from several metres away during the day, and farther at night. On sunny days or when warmed by solar energy (often informally referred to as “charging up”), solia are able to draw strength from the sun and their patron god Sol in short spurts, enhancing their strength, speed, and senses a moderate amount. However, cloudy or rainy days and particularly eclipses can be tiring periods for solia, and at night the absence of the sun can lead to weakness or stress. Solia are also known to have extremely poor vision in the absence of light, making night vision or simply dark rooms difficult to navigate. When “charged”, however, Solia have been known to glow or “glint” in sunlight, occasionally making them painful to look at without eye protection. As a species, solia are known to be as bright as the sun that created them, and have a reputation of being boisterous, tough, and deeply reverent and proud of Sol.
