ASKERI

Blessed with intense, otherworldly charm, askeri are thought to be the offspring of ancient fairies and elves. They carry much of the visual traits of their ancient ancestors, with pointed ears and sometimes uncommon eye colours like purple, yellow, or combinations of other unique appearances. Askeri generally have pointed ears and are very charming and physically attractive. They are also gifted with an ability commonly known as silvertongue, a sort of verbal charm that enables them to more easily sway others to their side. It is very difficult for the average mage to resist silvertongue, and most mortals have an even harder time against it. Askeri have a negative reputation amongst the magical community for supposedly being dangerous and manipulative individuals, and there are ancient folktales that suggest they might even be cannibalistic, eating those that they lure in through their charm, though this is a trait more common in their descendants, the sirens, than most askeri.

Negative interpretations are so common against askeri that many have taken to hiding their heritage and pretending instead to be elves, or using their charm to pretend to be humans for their own protection and peace of mind.
